Holding Things Together

John Roc,  born in Bakerbrook, N. B. Canada,  I started playing music at age nine. First playing French Canadian style fiddle tunes with Simon St. Pierre and singing with mom and dad in the family band, I was later introduced to Mac Wiseman’s singing and knew Bluegrass was the kind of music I wanted to play. I have performed from the Canadian Maritimes to central Florida with bands like Mac McHale & The Old Time Radio Gang, Freewheelin',  Lost Wages, Stoney Point, Shady Creek, Bluegrass Amendment. Currently I am working with Southern Rail & The Radio Gang and freelances  with other Bluegrass bands of the northeast.

I recently retired from my day job and now can concentrate on my love of playing, recording, engineering  and producing Bluegrass music.

I play the  #23 Paganoni mandolin.
